One you have to let play itself out, kind of like a cut-throat chess game and JD Cannon has some great scenes. Of course, brash Cannon has murder on his mind, no surprise, putting the proverbial cherry on the very top. This is about as good as it gets for a duel of the titans, trying to figure out how to bring the other one down. Barry is a user and a cheat and her husband is a jealous money-grubber. What to do? To tell you the truth, they deserved each other, no better pair to appear in a Hitchcock production. She wants a divorce, plus a heavy settlement, including most of his land. Icy cold, yet beautiful Patricia Barry plays the bitter wife of real etate tycoon JD Cannon. And you have to admit, next to Hitch, Karloff made a pretty darn good host. Robert Arthur wrote this captivating episode, and certainly had the experience, writing for Boris Karloff's tv show, THRILLER, which was a macabre version of Hitchcock's own show. A paroled safe cracker is hired by a safe company to try and break open one of their safes publicly, and get the 50,000-dollar reward inside. There was something about that particular lot of stories. I recommend this to fans of this type of more family-friendly crime-mysteries.I agree with the last reviewer that the third and final season of the AH Hour was the best of the lot. there are a few gags(such as the long running one of different methods and tools being used against the sturdy container) and jokes, but more than being outright funny(and if you aren't into the way they went for laughs in the period this was made, you're outta luck for even those), it's just an overall less serious approach(and mercifully doesn't get as goofy as it at times threatens to). could he? This is one of the humor-oriented episodes, as the wacky music will reveal. His boss Stark apparently agreed(presumably after his Mark II came to a safe landing), so now he has to convince Morrisey(Hartman, who does well with the comedic material, physical and verbal alike), and then it's a wash! Because. He's sure he has it now, however: having the best safe-cracker see if he can open the most recent box, in front of a crowd including policemen and reporters. most of them are about space travel, which, to be fair, was on everybody's mind at the time. Harrison(played enthusiastically by Webber) Fell(someone really should help him back up), an ad exec, has not had a good idea for a campaign for months(personally, I think it's because all his time is spent thinking up more or less fitting metaphors for seemingly every situation he's in that relates to his job being done successfully. ![]()
